Doing a ritual, performance, or action for one of the planetary deities is one technique of “remediation” or changing your relationship to a particular planetary energy in your chart. Like other forms of planetary magic, the goal is to bring together the actions, the attitude, and the objects of a planet in order to condense that energy, the spirit of that planet, in one place at a meaningful time.
You can work with an astrologer to identify the parts of your chart (and your life) that are difficult and would benefit most from propitiating that planet, or you can personally identify challenges that you have & consider which planet would help you in changing those patterns. For example, lack of confidence could be tied to the sun or Mars; trouble relating with others or shame about appearance could both benefit from remediating Venus; things like hyper-criticality (of yourself & others), fear of death, and depression are in the realm of Saturn. I hope this little madlibs for generating rituals or performances is fun & generative. My planet profiles only have a couple correspondences listed, but you can always get the dictionary of correspondences The Rulership Book by Rex Bills (there's also a PDF online which I'm not explicitly telling you to download lol). You can tailor it completely to what you actually want to or feel called to do, and make it as private & personal or as public & visible as you want. Overall, any action like this is a way to practice connecting with these deep, shifting planetary energies that can otherwise feel abstract or detached from our real lives. I love to think of ways of getting astrology off of the page and into practice, and I hope this can be an access point doing acts of astrological magic without having to become an expert in technical astrology or any particular esoteric tradition.
